A Letter To The Light Of My Life, My Mom

You are my rock, my best friend, my protector, my safe haven, but most importantly, my mom.

To my Mom,

You are my best friend. Often times people claim it is not good to be best friends with your kid. I’m so glad you don’t listen to other people or I would have missed out on the best friendship in my life. First, you are my mom, but more importantly, you are the person who is there for me at all hours of the day, through any situation. You are the person who has seen me at my worst and my best. You remind me of my worth when I don’t see it. Most importantly, you show me more love any human ever has in 21+ years. That makes you more than my mom, that makes you my best friend.Thank you for those "us” days. You will never know how much those days we had to ourselves got me through the hard times. Whether we went to eat, shop, or drive around I always felt better at the end of the day. You pulled me through some dark days and you were truly the light at the end of my tunnel so many times. The “us” days made me feel so loved. The "us" days are the days I still live for

I love being able to say, "I get it from my momma!" Being in your twenties and hearing you look like your mom is not always girl’s favorite line. However, I love I hearing that I look like you, because have you seen yourself?!? But, in all seriousness, I really hope I get your genes and looks just like you forever.

You showed me kindness and for that, I’m forever grateful. It is no secret that I grew up surrounded by some mean girls, but you showed me the importance of kindness. You showed me how being the kind person is always better in the end. You taught me to be better, to be more kind than the people who were not kind to me. You taught me to rise above the mean girls.

Thank for all the holidays. It is because of you that I love holidays so much. You put your heart, thought, and money into making sure everyone holidays are filled with joy, happiness, love, and laughter, and a full belly. The holidays are always fun with you because you make them so special for everyone!

You are the most selfless person I know. To say you go above and beyond for me is an understatement. I now know so many times you have been without, just so I can have the extras. You put the family before yourself with no questions. You will do anything for our family and for that I can never repay you, or say thank you enough.

I could not live a day without you. You get me through every single day of life. I cannot go without talking to you. I feel the need to call you multiple times a day over irrelevant things. But, without your voice and reassurance, I could not get through a single day. You are always taking care of me (even though I’m 21). You are the person I need every single day.

I love you forever, Mommy,

Your girl

Blair Waldorf Quote
"DESTINY IS FOR LOSERS. IT'S JUST A STUPID EXCUSE TO WAIT FOR THINGS TO HAPPEN INSTEAD OF MAKING THEM HAPPEN." - BLAIR WALDORF.

The world stopped in 2012 when our beloved show "Gossip Girl" ended. For six straight years, we would all tune in every Monday at 9:00 p.m. to see Upper Eastside royalty in the form of a Burberry headband clad Blair Waldorf. Blair was the big sister that we all loved to hate. How could we ever forget the epic showdowns between her and her frenemy Serena Van Der Woodsen? Or the time she banished Georgina Sparks to a Christian summer camp? How about that time when she and her girls took down Bart Bass? Blair is life. She's taught us how to dress, how to be ambitious, and most importantly, how to throw the perfect shade.

too tired to care

1. The awkward hellos on move-in day.

You're moving your stuff onto your floor, and you will encounter people you don't know yet in the hallway. They live on your floor, so you'll awkwardly smile and maybe introduce yourself. As you walk away, you will wonder if they will ever speak to you again, but don't worry, there's a good chance that you will make some great friends on your floor!

Dear High School Friend Group,

My sweet angels, where would I be without you guys. We all grew up together because we either met in middle school or high school and watched each other grow up and get "old." We got to go to prom together and then graduate together. Then watched each other as we continued our lives in college, joining sororities and meeting people who will impact our lives forever. It all has happened so fast.
