Dear my darling,

That boy you claimed to love with all of your heart, you know the one. He was the one that made your heart race at the sound of his name. I know you’ve dreamed that he would be the one you stayed and cherished memories with.

I’m aware that you spent every waking moment with him also. I’m also aware that you’re broken hearted feeling like nothing and nobody can “fix” you. Then there was that friend that talked the most about you, but had the brightest smile and was ready to talk you up when you walked by.

Well, let me tell you this: that boy, the one you swear was perfect isn’t perfect if he could let a gem like you go. I know you believed in him like he was a fairly tale and I know it’s hard to get over him as well. Yes, there are going to be days when you feel like dying but the one thing you have to remember is when you were stuck listening to his lies.

You may feel alone because you dropped that unsupportive friend but you just have to know that it was for the best and I promise you’ll notice who would really stick by you no matter what. Sometimes people are meant to stay in our lives, but instead some are meant to only take a little ride to show us what and who we deserve.

You’re going to go through a tough time but in the midst of it, just realize that it’s all worth it. You’ll be glad you found yourself and clarified your morals. You’re going to wish someday that you had taken that chance or went to that one place that people begged you to go, but those are called regrets and I’m begging you not to have anymore of them.

Please don’t ever wish your life away no matter how badly you want high school to end. High school is just a practice round and you’ll realize in college that what you do matters, whether it’s breaking you or making you, so enjoy being free of the real world’s dictation at the moment.

You may feel as if you have everything all figured out but I promise you that life will flip you upside down and when that happens, pray that you surrounded yourself with the right people and you’ll be okay

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
