During my most vulnerable state, these are the words I needed to hear from you.

A Letter To The Friend Who Told Me "You're Worth It"

A few weeks ago, there were a couple events that just happened one after the other. They were little events. Each one connecting together. Pretty soon, the stress and added pressure got the best of me, and that's when my breakdown began.

They don't happen very often, but when they do, I turn to you. One of the strongest person I know. I don't know how you do it, but you listen when needed, but give your best advice at the right time. You calm me down with her soft smile, eye contact, and a lot of the times, your wit. Yes, even when I'm at my most emotional state, you'll will crack a joke, just to make me smile for a second. In the end, she will look me right in the eyes, and tell me, "you're worth it."

For a few seconds, I start to stare at her. Then, more tears will flow, because in that exact moment, those are the words you needed to hear.

Yes, I've been told before that I tend to be the person to put others before myself. I've heard other people call me independent, when I didn't see it in myself. In my friend group, they call me mom, because I'm are always looking out for everyone, going out of my way to help others.

But in that moment, when I'm feeling most vulnerable, those words meant something. They mattered because it from you. It's hard to put into words, but in that moment, I knew everything was going to be ok, because you said it was.

Know matter what, I know you will always be there for me. And I will be there for you. You have proven to me that you will drop literally, everything, during times of stress, and I just need someone to listen. When I need to be silly, you will be silly with me. When I need someone to talk to, you will always ask for me to tell you a story. Even when I just need to dance, you know exactly which song to put on, and you aren't afraid to belt out the lyrics along with me.

Well, what I want to say to you know is, you're worth it.

You told me the best way to express my feelings is to write, so I did. This one's for you.

I love you, my friend.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

It's not all morning coffees and singing along to the radio.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

I've been in college for four years now. I spent half my time as a commuter and half as a resident so I've experienced both sides of the housing spectrum. One thing I've learned comparing the two is that my struggles as a commuter far outweigh anything I went through while living on campus. Commuters have to deal with the problems school brings along with a slew of other issues; I've filled up my gas tank in the worst kind of weather conditions and napped in random places in public more times than I'm proud to say of. This is a list of some of the most challenging aspects of being a commuter.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!
