To some you may be just a dog, but to me you're my heart.

To Saidee,

You will never read this yourself, but I hope I show you how important you are to me. You bring sunshine to every rainy day. You bring laughter to every situation. You bring joy to everyone.

You are my best friend and heart.

You have taught me what unconditional love is. You have taught me that love does not discriminate on looks, ethnicity, gender, age. You taught me that there is always something to smile and be thankful for.

You have brought me such peace and happiness it is hard to put into words. You have made my heart expand ten times larger than it was before I ever knew you.

You are such a precious display of God's love for His children that all I can do sometimes is look at you and be in complete awe of the silent language that you and I have.

You know when I'm happy, when I'm upset, when I'm scared, and when I'm lonely. You know when to push yourself against me so I can feel the heart of wholehearted love and selflessness.

Having you apart of my life makes the days that much easier knowing I have you to come home to and hug.

The way you take pleasure it just sitting out on the patio with me while I read or eat breakfast, the way you want to meet every person we pass when we go on a walk, the way you press your nose underneath my hand so it's resting on you.

All of those things make bad days a little better.

Yes, sometimes you frustrate me because I don't always know what you want, but I do know that you've been the one that has always been there for me no matter the circumstance, no matter the timing.

To some you may be just a dog, but to me you're my best friend and my heart. You're apart of my family and you mean everything to me and I thank God everyday for placing you in my life.

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Daydreaming

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.
