With being away from home, you encounter a lot of new experiences. You’re living with someone in a not so big space, you have a lot more responsibilities, you don’t have your dog, etc. It can be challenging at times and I’m thankful that I have such an awesome roommate to get me through it all.
Dear Roommate,
Thank you for living and putting up with me. I know that there is no way that I could survive my freshmen year without you. The way we met was a little peculiar, through the Facebook page, met at Starbucks in Target, then chose each other. Forever thankful that you responded to my message because we have such a fun relationship. We’ve had our ups and downs but you’re always there for me and I can’t express how much that means to me. We understand the mutual struggle of having big feet, how easy it is to lose pencils, are pretty outspoken, and have a love of seafood.
Staying up too late talking about our days and laughing at the awkward experiences at lunch or the funny tweets we see that we know will get a laugh out of the other one. Also, we are both a fan of lazy days because who needs to get out of bed before noon on Saturday? From binge watching Netflix, to binge eating ice cream, I know that I always have a friend in you. We have a lot of the same drives, we both enjoy helping people, no matter the cost (even if it’s our sleep). We understand how crucial studying is and we aren’t afraid to ask the other for advice whether it’s fashion, school, or boys. We care about our grades as equally that we have fun.
We have a lot of the same friends which may sound like a curse to some people but we make it work. I know your Taco Bell and McDonald’s orders by heart and you know mine. Our Hannah Montana/High School Musical dance sessions while cleaning are such a blast. It’s crazy to me now that when I go home, I find it weird to not have you talk to until I fall asleep, or be the only one in my room for that matter. I never thought that in that small of a room, we could fit such different styles or that I could feel so at home and content. As this year is winding down, there isn’t anyone I would have rather spent my freshman year living with. We've had a lot of firsts together and I'm very happy we got to experience them together. Thank you for all that you have done for me, and let’s kick butt the rest of this year.
With Love,
Roommate
