A Letter To My Role Model

It really doesn't matter if people know who you are. What's most important is that I know who you are and what you mean to me.

First of all, thank you for always being there for me and having a good head on your shoulders. If there's one person on the planet that I would look to when my life feels like it's in order, it's you. You always manage to have your life in order and it makes me think I someday might have mine together.

Let me tell you how amazing it is to see so much strength in a person. No matter how many battles and curveballs life throws at you, you always manage to make it through with a smile on your face. Sometimes I question how you're even still smiling.

You do so much for other people. I don't even think you realize how much you do. You give to others and help them with whatever they need and barely ask for anything in return. You're so selfless and I couldn't thank you enough for showing me how to care for other people.

That brings me to how patient you are. You have the patience of an angel and I envy it so much. You keep calm so well, and even if you do crack, you have every right to. But that rarely happens and I don't know how you do it. It's like a super power of yours.

There are so many things I look up to you for. I've learned so much from you and I couldn't thank you enough. Thank you for being such a fantastic role model.

I thought senioritis in high school was rough until I became a college senior about to go into the real world. I'm supposed to have everything figured out, right? I mean I went through four years of tough classes and serious self-searching (and crying). What I found overall was Senioritis sneaking up on me.

College is filled with many things, and we're so often lectured to make the right decisions as we head out on our own into the college life. But sometimes it's necessary to indulge in some guilty pleasures as well as just doing things because you can. And honestly, a lot of the time it's inevitable. College is no piece of cake that's for sure, so it's okay to do some things you deep down know you shouldn't....once in a while anyways.
