A Letter To Protesters

God never intended us to use violence on those that disagree with us or who even are our enemies.

A Letter To Protesters

Since even before Donald Trump was elected president of the United States, people have resisted him. Which is their opinion, but there is one thing they do wrong.

Protesters are displaying their disapproval for the new president in a violent way. They are destroying business and harming people who may have a different point of view than them when these people did nothing to them. They are protesting something that was decided fairly. Eight years ago when Obama was elected there was uproar. And yes there was inappropriate behavior, but nothing of this level.

When these protesters loot and destroy businesses, they are destroying the lives of other common people who have worked hard to earn what they have and to start their own businesses. Even if it is a large company it is wrong to destroy their property. Blocking the traffic of people who are trying to get to work also does little but to bring down the common man as well.

There has also been so much violence that innocent, hard working people have been seriously hurt. The irony of this situation is that some of these people that are promoting the violence are holding signs that say "Love Trumps Hate." When we look at scripture, it shows us just how love should react. In Matthew 5:44-45 it says, "But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain of the just and the unjust."

God never intended us to use violence on those that disagree with us or who even are our enemies. He has told us to love them. He told us to love them not just because he said so, but to show them what Christ like love here on earth looks like. So if you are one of the people out there protesting or are considering it I'm going to ask you to remember one thing. God loves you and he is calling you to a better life than what you have been living.
