A letter to one who contemplates suicide

You're never alone

A letter to one who contemplates suicide

Feel like nothing's getting better? Has the thought of you taking your last breath and permanently removing yourself off this beautiful planet come across your mind? If so, keep reading.

You're really sad, depressed even. On top of the depression you have anxiety attacks and tend to be bi-polar. Something happened. Something made you feel this way. But what do you make the people who love and care about you feel? You're not just taking away your life. Your taking away from them, in fact you're killing them along with you.

So you kill yourself and your dead. You think that resolves your problems and is the better choice but it isn't. What about your mom. You are a part of your mom. She'll be sad. She'll cry. She won't want to eat, sleep or even talk to anyone else. She'll be numb, and silent always. And your dad can't even comfort her because she blames herself for what you have done. Then your father. Your father is so upset, his little baby is gone. Forever. The last thing he said to you replays in his mind over and over again while he is at the office making money to support himself, your mother and your siblings. Oh yeah your siblings. You were the oldest. They looked up to you. The hero. The one to help make the bad dreams go away. The ones who would bother you while you were trying to be on the phone with your best friend. Best friend. You killed them too. You took away the person they would laugh with, hang out with and just sit in silence with. You took away half of them. The half that completed them. You killed a half of them that they will never get back.

While permanently taking your life may sound like the best option you have. It isn't, you need to think about your loved ones. If you're depressed speak out, it may not be easy but it's possible.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
