A Letter To My Older Sisters

God may have given me sisters, but I am lucky enough to call you my best friends.

Goofballs,

Well I guess it was only a matter of time huh? You guys have literally been by my side for all of my life and there has never been a time that you have left me in a time of need. I guess this is quite over due, but better late than never...right? So this is for you, my best friends, my role models, my heroes, my sisters.

When we were little you would always play pranks on me. You would put Halloween masks on my alarm clock, or wear them around to scare me. You would essentially make me scared of the dark without knowing it. You used me as a little servant. You told me “ I’ll give you a dollar if you….” and by now I think you owe me over $50, but that’s besides the point. You taught me how to play soccer and softball, I looked up to you guys for everything and wanted to be just like you.

You two helped me grow up, yes our relationship wasn’t always sunshine and roses and we got into a lot of fights but being able to watch you grow and mature only made me want to do the same. Seeing the way you handled situations so flawlessly and going the extra mile for someone you love showed me that I had the best role models in the world. You never let me believe I wasn’t worth someone’s time or that I would never be enough because you were always there when something went wrong.

Through the past 19 years of my life, it is safe to say I have seen some pretty dark days. No matter how dark and gloomy I may have been, I know I have you guys to help me push through and do things for myself. You have taught me that there is no way to describe the feeling of love you get from a sister. You can’t explain all the stupid and goofy moments we have shared along with all the times we have ranted about mom or the dumb stories from the LIRR that day.

You guys have helped shape me into who I am today and I cannot thank you enough for that. All our fights now seem pointless, and every time we got mad or annoyed is irrelevant. Being able to grow up looking to both of you for guidance and advice is all I could ever ask for, but I’m glad I ask for more. I’m lucky that I was given two older sisters, but I am beyond grateful I have two best friends. I love you more than you will ever know!

All my love,

Your Baby Sister

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
