The time has, unfortunately, come for me to say goodbye for now to my chapter of writing with Odyssey.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my time spent writing with my community. I honestly stayed on way longer than I initially thought I might, but I have been able to do what I am passionate about through this platform.

As I was submitting my last article I knew that I had to write one more article, and that article is a tribute to my squadyssey who may or may not know who I am.

To My Fierce Community Of Ladies:

Girls, don't give up on your dreams. Lean on your girls and create friendships that time, distance, and life cannot come between. What you all have is a common passion for writing and that is such a beautiful talent. Share your hearts, dreams, and goals with each other and never stop encouraging one another. Unfortunately, the Odyssey was unknown to me when I was a student at State, therefore, I was unable to make the memories that you girls can so I encourage you to take advantage of that. Being apart of the GroupMe and seeing how well bonded you beauties are is so beautiful. Continue to grow and spread the joy of what being apart of the community can do.

This goes for ALL communities across the board. What you all have is very special and if you're a student on campus and have the opportunity to engage and grow with other creators then please do. I guarantee you will not regret it.

To My Extravagant Editor:

Girl, you have been an encouragement from the day that you stepped up to the plate and took on this new role. You are a powerhouse and on top of everything on your plate, you have kept the importance of your position on Odyssey at the top. I'm thankful that you were given this position and that I have had the joy and blessing of speaking with you on multiple occasions. You have gracefully encouraged your community of fierce writers daily and never made them feel less than a priority. I am so blessed to know you and I am so excited to see where the Lord will lead you in life. Continue being the boss that you are and slay at life.

To My Passionate President:

Sweet, sweet girl I don't even know how to begin to thank you. I watched you step up to EIC and then President and slay at absolutely every task given to you. You've handled conflict with such radiant beauty and grace and have done nothing but encourage friendship and communication. You have also done all of this with a completely packed schedule and followed the Lord where He has led you. It is a blessing and a joy to call you friend and I am thankful for every single ounce of love, compassion, and faith you've had in me and allowing me to take roles that weren't convenient as I am two and a half hours away. I love your passion for the Lord and how you seek Him in absolutely everything that you do. Don't forget that I am your friend and that I am rooting for you as well as every single lady on this team and community. I am excited to see the growth that'll continue to happen throughout it. You're a blessing and don't ever forget that. Thank you.

I could go on and on and on with thank you's and how grateful I am for this opportunity and encouragement throughout being on this team, but it probably wouldn't end any time soon. I have so much love and respect for each of you beauties including the powerhouses at HQ who keep things running smoothly. I want to encourage those at HQ to continue being passionate about what they do and to listen to the voices. Y'all have such an important job so don't forget to build relationships with your President's and Editor's and also Creator's who reach out to you. Don't underestimate your ability at these titles and stay real ladies and gentlemen. Y'all have such a great thing going.

Peace out Odyssey, thanks for all the memories.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Whether you're commuting or dorming, your first year of college is a huge adjustment. The transition from living with parents to being on my own was an experience I couldn't have even imagined- both a good and a bad thing. Here's a personal archive of a few of the things I learned after going away for the first time.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
