Dear Delta Zeta

To the two Greek letters that mean so much to me, and to the girls that changed my life...

Dear Delta Zeta,

When I was younger and I found out about Greek life, I pictured being a part of that world, a world with many sisters that I could have for the rest of my life, but I did not know if I would ever fit in. But honestly, I think it was one of my best decisions ever to go through recruitment when the time rolled around during my freshman year of college.

I never thought that joining a sorority, even a sorority as great as Delta Zeta, I would find my home away from home, develop friendships and make memories.I never realized how much I would need this group of chaotic, fun and extremely compassionate and amazing women by my side. I have changed a lot because of you and for that I am so thankful even though I have only spent a short time with all of you. I have found some of my best friends, because of you and found out more about myself than I would’ve had I not joined.

I have also never felt prouder of a group of women in my life. I see bright futures and an endless amount of possibilities for each and every one of you. And I can’t wait to see all of you and the future turtles find their way in the world being the fantastic individuals you are.

Thank you for everything you’ve done for me Delta Zeta. You had helped shaped me to who I am at this exact moment right now and I know you will continue to shape me as the years gone on. Without the support of sisters that can make a difference in your life, some who have shaped me to the woman I am today. You all are the best people I have ever met and I am so ecstatic that I get to call you all my sisters.

All those memories that brought our house together more. The loudness we bring to events that make us known around campus. Our kindness towards each other and our even greater appreciation for the plethora of philanthropies we support. And even more thankful for the little things: drive in movies instead of chapter, our competitive nature, and the endless amount of love that surrounds our sorority.

There is nothing better than that and I don’t think I would get what we have anywhere else. I love you all so much and can’t wait to see what the future brings for all us.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"
