Mom,

From every doctors appointment to every single cheerleading competition or game, you were right there front and center. From a very young age I realized that it was always just you and I, us against the world. Being a mom is hard enough, but being a mom with a full time job and school, it is not easy.

So mom, I am proud of you, like very proud of you. You are the reason I am pushing so hard to fulfill my dreams because even now that I'm all grown up. You have shown me that life will throw a lot your way, but with the right support system and a little faith I can really do anything. You have shown me that even when times are at their darkest, there is still light.

Remember when we used to live in a little old place, and we used to look at log cabins that we were gonna live in one day? Well this is my promise, I'll get you that house one day I promise. One day when I'm successful I will stop at nothing to stop that horrible disease you have, I will help find a cure. I will get us a vacation on a beach somewhere in the sun, just me and you mom.

One day when its my turn to walk down the isle, you're going to be right by my side just like you have for every other big moment in my life. You're my right hand mom, yes we may fight like we hate each other but you are my true best friend. I hope to be at least half the mother that you are one day, you have given me all the tools that I need so I promise that I will not disappoint.

I am so proud of you, I don't think you realize just how proud I am. You're working a full time job, going to school, and maintaining a 4.0 GPA with class every night after work. You really are superwoman. You have pushed me to do things that I didn't even think were possible at my age.

Being a single mom, you have always made it work, from all of my cheer events to school events, and still managing to make time for a real family dinner every night. You've always had a place for me to rest my head at night, and you have always made sure that I was taken care of no matter what. Whether it $10 just so I can have something to eat when the cafe was closed or even driving all the way to school just to spend time with me during my games. I couldn't ask for a better role model of what a mother should be.

I know we are often at each others throats or we are even sometimes not speaking for a few days, I love you and I am so proud of you. I'm sorry for all of my bratty moments, I can't promise they will stop but I will keep trying to work at it.

Love Always,

Your Peanut

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.

11 Times Aubrey Plaza Described Sophomore Year

"I don't want to do things. I want to do not things."

Aubrey Plaza is one of my favorite humans in Hollywood. She's honest, blunt, unapologetic, and hilarious. I just started my sophomore year of college, and found that some of her best moments can accurately describe the start of the school year.

1. When your advisor tells you that you should declare a major soon.

2. Seeing the lost and confused freshmen and remembering that was you a short year ago, and now being grateful you know the ins and outs of the campus.

3. Going to the involvement fair to sign up for more clubs knowing that you are already too involved.

4. When you actually do the reading required for the first class.

5. Seeing your friends for the first time since last semester.

6. When you're already drowning in homework during syllabus week.

7. Realizing you don't have the same excitement for classes as you did as a freshman.

8. Going home and seeing people from high school gets weirder the older you get.

College is hard. As people ages 18-22, we’re just trying to figure out what we’re doing with our lives, our careers, our eating habits, exercise routines, sleep patterns, and other necessities for adult life. We definitely don’t take proper care of ourselves; it’s basically impossible when we have essays, tests and readings due and somehow we’re supposed to eat right, exercise and sleep. We’re doomed to get sick. I have zero experience in science but when I get sick there are certain things I do to make myself better.
