An Open Letter To My Newly Married Friend

To My Newly Married Friend,

Almost two years ago when I left to study abroad in London, I knew that my life was about to change in different ways. What I didn't realize at the time was that a year and a half later, I would be a bridesmaid in the first wedding I ever attended for one of my closest friends I would make abroad.

I had never been a bridesmaid before or have ever even attended a wedding, so the whole process was entirely new to me. I couldn't have been more grateful to be asked to be a bridesmaid for someone who is so special to me and who I met at such a special point in my life. We had the opportunity to travel to countries and cities that most friends only dream of going, establishing a priceless friendship and a ton of memories along the way.

We constantly talked about our lives across the pond, filling each other in about our boys at home. It is crazy to think that sharing these stories led us to this past weekend, with you marrying the man I had the honor of hearing you talk about for months with nothing but love and admiration in both your voice and eyes.

During the wedding this weekend, the love you two have for one another was so evident and overpowering that you couldn't avoid getting choked up as you recited your vows. I couldn't have felt luckier to have been a part of your beautiful day and to experience your love firsthand. I also couldn't have picked a better first wedding to attend.

Thank you for making me a part of your special day and making this weekend one that I will never forget.

Love always,

Your Bridesmaid and Friend Forever

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?

I've been super busy lately with school work, studying, etc. Besides the fact that I do nothing but AP chemistry and AP economics, I constantly think of stupid questions that are almost impossible to answer. So, maybe you could answer them for me, and if not then we can both wonder what the answers to these 15 questions could be.
