A Letter To My Low-Maintenance Friend

Thank you for always being there, even though you may not always be physically there.

Hey you,

We may not be those kinds of best friends who talk every day, who have a Snap streak of over 100, and spend every waking moment together but I just want you to know that cherish our friendship.

Our friendship is something special, we can go days, weeks or even months without talking and when we finally meet up in a local bagel shop it is like no time has passed. You will forever have a special place in my heart no matter how many days have passed since the last time we talked. Whenever there is something big that happens, you will be the person I will want to tell. We’ve been through a lot together, and even more without each other, but it’s always nice to have someone to lean on or an outsider’s opinion. I love that no matter how much time has passed our friendship will remain as close as we were when we were little. There are certain people who come into our lives with the purpose to stay by our sides so we can experience life together. I know that you are that person for me. Sometimes we will go through differences, life happens and we just cannot make time for each other like we used to, other friends may come into the picture, but I know that no one can replace the friendship that we have.

With that being said, I just want to say thank you.

Thank you for being there for me no matter how many days or weeks have passed since the last time we talked.

Thank you for always being in my corner and always wearing a blue jersey for Team Shannon.

Thank you for the Insta likes, the Snapchats and the random “I miss you” texts.

Thank you for never leaving. We have been through a lot but we are still here supporting each other.

Thank you for showing me that a friend doesn’t always have to be someone who is physically with you all day every day. A friend is someone who you can trust with your secrets, who you can show your silly side to and they won’t judge you.

Thank you for just being you. You are my crazy best friend and I wouldn’t want it any other way.

Thank you for being silly with me. For not judging me when I uploaded super contrasted-edited pictures to Facebook when I was 12 and supporting me when I thought that cutting my hair was a good idea.

Thank you for holding my hand when I was getting my ears pierced.

Thank you for being there for me. There have been times when life has gotten in the way, but you have understood and I am thankful for that. You have been there for me for as long as I can remember and I am thankful for that. We are currently in a difficult part of our lives, we are growing up and life is starting to happen and life will take us to different places in America but I know that you are always a phone call away.

Thank you for supporting me. For as long as I can remember you have always been one of my biggest supporters and always encouraged me.

Thank you for those 2 a.m. chats when I cannot sleep.

You will forever hold a special place in my heart and I always look forward to our breakfast dates that slowly turn into us ordering lunch because we aren’t finished catching up yet.

Love you long time.

Love,

Me

If I have learned one thing in my lifetime, it is that friends are a privilege. No one is required to give you their company and yet there is some sort of shared connection that keeps you together. And from that friendship, you may even find yourself lucky enough to have a few more friends, thus forming a group. Here are just a few signs that prove your current friend group is the ultimate friend group.

When it comes to television, there’s very few sets of on-screen siblings that a lot of us can relate to. Only those who have grown up with siblings knows what it feels like to fight, prank, and love a sibling. Ross and Monica Geller were definitely overbearing and overshared some things through the series of "Friends," but they captured perfectly what real siblings feel in real life. Some of their antics were funny, some were a little weird but all of them are completely relatable to brothers and sisters everywhere.

Her sister was a member, her mom was a member, all of her aunts were members, and her grandma was a member. She has been waiting her whole life to wear these letters and cried hysterically on bid day. Although she can act entitled at times, you can bet she is one of the most enthusiastic sisters.

Every kid in college and/or high school dreams of summer the moment they walk through the door on the first day back in September. It becomes harder and harder to focus in classes and while doing assignments as the days get closer.
