You have made it, congratulations. This is a huge milestone in your life, it is time to go out and figure out how to be on your own and just exactly what you were meant to do. This is the beginning of anything you want. I would wish you luck but I know you don't need it, you are going to do great things. I want you to be so proud of yourself and know I am beyond proud of you. Take pride in how far you have come and have faith in how far you will go. It has truly been an honor to watch you bloom into the person you are today. You are the greatest I have ever known. I saw you go from the shy, pretty little girl that was unsure of what she had to offer to the outgoing, beautiful young woman that knows her worth and would try to take on the world tomorrow if she needed to. I loved you then and I love you even more now.

And to my boyfriend, this all goes for you as well. I haven't known you as long but for the past year that I have known you, you have amazed me every second of it. I have also seen you grow in several ways in such a short amount of time and although I want time to slow down I could never be more proud of you or more excited to see the great things you will do with your life.

The steps that you have taken to get here has made me so sure you could do anything in life that you wanted to. But I want you to always remember no matter what you do in your life make sure it makes you happy, whether that means being president, being the best lawyer in the world, having the biggest forestry industry in the world, being a zookeeper, or being a waitress in California surfing it up, just make sure it makes you happy and that will make me ecstatic. You deserve all the happiness in the world and I hope you do everything you can to get that. All I ask is for you to remain happy and that will make me so proud.

I will tell you not everything is going to be easy or great but I have no doubt in my mind you will breeze through whatever comes your way. You're going to do extraordinary things I am sure of it, but never forget who helped you get there. I have been blessed to have been by your side each step up until now and I can't wait to be there for several other huge milestones in your life. If anything remains constant in your life it will be my love for you and your pure greatness. I am so proud of the person you are today and I will remain proud of you always. I love you so much and can't wait to see what you have in store for the world. You are going to great things. Congratulations. Remember, this is not the end but just the beginning.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
