Dear Significant Other,
It is once again the “happiest” time of the year, and we are not together to celebrate. While other couples may be cuddling up on the couch watching Christmas movies, eating cookies and exchanging gifts, we are left to mail our presents and Skype. There will be no exchanges of kisses under the mistletoe or on New Years Eve, but that doesn’t mean I won’t be thinking of you during this holiday season. In fact, with the arrival of the festivities, I find my mind wandering… thinking about you more and more.
The holidays are about spending time with your family, and some days it is hard to celebrate when you, someone I consider family, is miles or time zones away. During this special time of year, what keeps me going is the one main theme that is often shadowed by presents and that is to love one another. Whether you are near or far you can always feel the love between us. So maybe this year we won’t be making gingerbread houses or decorating a tree and that may be true for next year too; but one thing is certain, I will be loving and thinking of you.
Love,
Your Other Half
