Little Rascal,

From the moment you stepped foot into my life you have turned it completely upside down. From seeing you open your eyes for the first time -- to hearing your first words I knew you would be something special. Every day is a new adventure with you. When you wake up every morning you continue to surprise your family, whether you have learned a new word or began to crawl you will constantly impress us every second of your day. We live to see you grow into a perfectly imperfect individual. Over time, I have observed your own little personality flourish. I know what makes you smile and laugh. I know how to make you stop crying and how to put you to bed. With every adventure we have together I've discovered new quirks to make you tick.

Here is some advice from me little man, never take anything for granted. When dad grills burgers for too long be thankful you have someone to put food on the table and smile through the charcoaled taste in your mouth. When mom gets upset because you want to spend more time with your friends remember who will always be your number one supporter. Grandma and grandpa want to see you as often as possible. They have done so much for you so make sure you call them a few times a month. You don't have to go out every Saturday night. Take it from me, the best weekends I've had are the ones spent at home watching scary movies with dad. With every decision you make comes with repercussions so try to make the right ones. You'll make a few mistakes along the way, however, without the mess ups you wouldn't have had a lesson learned. Your future's so bright, peanut. As you take on the world just remember how much I love you little one.

Love,

Your Big Sister

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

The Importance Of Being A Good Person

An open letter to the good-hearted people.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
