An Open Letter To Junior Year
Life Of Pix, Damian Zaleski

Dear Junior Year,

You are looked at as one of the toughest years in high school. However, I will not cower in the face of a challenge. You will challenge me with SATs, AP tests, and every other standardized test on the face of the planet. You may bring me long, sleepless nights writing the perfect paper, where no amount of coffee will seem to save my drooping eyes.

You may bring tears over that not-so-great grade on a Calculus test. But you will certainly not bring all negatives. You will bring beautiful things too. You will bring me prom and other dances.

You will bring Friday night football games and memories with wonderful friends. You will bring the anticipation of applying to my dream colleges. But most importantly, you will bring a new, much better me. You are giving me the chance to improve myself even further, and for that, I am grateful. I will be able to learn more, experience more, and tackle every challenge you give me with a smile on my face. I will show you just how prepared I can be for every exam you have for me, and I will have fun in the process.

Give me everything you have, junior year. I'm ready for you.

I thought senioritis in high school was rough until I became a college senior about to go into the real world. I'm supposed to have everything figured out, right? College is filled with many things, and we're so often lectured to make the right decisions as we head out on our own into the college life. But sometimes it's necessary to indulge in some guilty pleasures as well as just doing things because you can. And honestly, a lot of the time it's inevitable. College is no piece of cake that's for sure, so it's okay to do some things you deep down know you shouldn't....once in a while anyways.
