I know we have all went our separate ways this past couples of years. We go to different colleges, have different friends, and it requires a few more hours of driving to visit. We keep up with each other’s lives by Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter none of which compare to seeing each others faces. It's crap.
Remember the sleepovers, the campfires, and the weirdo games we would come up with just to humiliate each other? Remember the lunch time concoctions and the dares to who would eat it in the cafeteria? At one point, swear words and alcohol were unthinkable. But now, we're grown up. Our schedules became busy, and we resorted to brunch. Let’s be honest, who schedules brunch? Old people. Old people schedule brunch, and that is now our life. How did we get so lucky?
My favorite part about having you guys as best friends has not been the burping competitions or any other gross thing we came up with to pass the time. It has been the fact that no matter what has come our way, we have always stuck together. We never doubted the strength of our crew. Yes, we’ve had our share of drama, but we’ve battled our way through it. I’m making our friendship sound like a freakin’ awesome rom-com, and I’m not even the slightest bit sorry.
Anyways, what I’m trying to say is, thank you. Thank you for being there for me. Thank you for being so supportive of everything I do. Thanks for caring about my life, and thank you for being the best group of friends anyone could have. I take comfort in knowing every time a break from school comes around, I get to hang out some of the best people I’ve ever known.
Even though we’re far apart and though the thought may have crossed your mind that I’ve fallen off of the face of the Earth and died... surprise, I haven’t! I am praying for you all, I’m thinking about you all, and I’m loving you all from miles away. Thanks for being my home crew. Cheers to all of you, and cheers to our friendship.
