To My Future Husband Who I Haven't Met Yet

To the man I haven't met yet,

Most girls my age would say that they dreamt and prayed about you, but I have not. I have not spent hours dreaming about who I am going to marry. I have not prayed for you to come into my life, and honestly I don't think I ever will. I have spent years working on me, I have been getting myself to a place where I can fall in love and dedicate myself to someone else. I have been making myself a person worth loving.

I have always believed that you cannot be loved until you love yourself; that is what I have been working on. I have been learning how to be a person that can be loved, I want to be the person that you want to marry. I want to be at a place where we can work together to create a perfect life for the both of us. I want a marriage that lasts a lifetime, and to do that I think we both need to love ourselves and be people that can be loved by each other.

With all of that said, I cannot wait to meet you and start a life with you. I cannot wait to create memories, start a family and just live with you. I hope you will accept and embrace my crazy, I hope you join in on my goofiness and I hope you share the same love of life that I have. I hope that you don't judge my chocolate chip cookie addiction, I hope you support my very dramatic side. I hope you embrace the person I have worked so hard to be.

I also want you to know that I will always support you, I will always believe in you and I will always stand by your side no matter what. I will make sure you always feel loved and that you are never alone in the world. I will accept your flaws and insecurities in hope you that you also accept mine.

To the man I haven't met yet, I wish for all of this. Even though I don't spend my time day dreaming about you I want you to know that I care so much about us that I am working extra hard to make myself worth loving by you. It may seem selfish and silly compared to what other girls my age are doing but just know I usually march to the beat of my own drum (as I hope you do you too).

Heres to the life we will make together, to the memories we will create together and the joy we will feel together!

With all my love!

The girl you haven't met yet

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
