An Open Letter To My Future Dog

To my future dog:

I don't know if you will have a name already, and if you don't, I don't know what I'll want to name you, but I have been waiting for you my entire life.

"Get one when you have your own place," my mother would say. So the day I bring you home will also be a huge milestone for me. Plus, years after looking at cute dog videos on my Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, just know that you are the one.

Trust me.

From watching golden retrievers to little corgis, just know that I had to make one of the biggestdecisions of my life choosing the "first-right-dog" for me to bring home. Of course, if it was entirely up to me, I wouldn't have to choose and would bring fifty dogs back with me. (Sorry, Mom).

If you are a rescue: whoever left you on the streets or didn't give you the love and care you deserved, I'm glad I found you. I don't know who would even think to abandon your sweet face! Prepare to be spoiled for the rest of your life.

If you are the puppy I get from a neighbor's litter: it just so happened to be around the time I was looking for a dog! You were probably unexpected, from both my friend, and for me, but life is full of surprises and you happened to be the best one!

Whoever you are, we will go everywhere together (or at least to places I can take you!). I can't wait for our daily hikes or strolls around town (or the city if I end up there!). Night time cuddles, or days in during thunderstorms. If you come into my life as a puppy, maybe you can even grow up to see a family of my own.

But for now, I hope you don't mind my small condo or apartment space as I just start out. But I can't wait to start my life journey with my four-legged friend! Thank you for making my childhood dreams come true.

Lots of smooches for the pooches,

Your future owner.

Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
