To My Hometown Friends, As We Depart For Different Colleges
Elizabeth Lincoln

Dear friends,

I'm so thankful for all of the memories we have shared, and I will never forget them.

First off, I want to thank you for being such amazing friends and always being there for me. I couldn’t have asked for better friends to share my life with. You guys have helped make me into the person I am today and I will forever be grateful for you.

I can’t believe the time has come when we are all going our separate ways. We have been together through high school and some even since elementary school. We have always talked about going away to college, but it came faster than we thought it would. As we go off to college I want you guys to know a few things.

I want to thank you guys for making the past few years the best years of my life. We have been through so much together and have shared so many great memories. We had each others' backs no matter what and cared for each other like we were family. There have been endless times when I sit back and realize how thankful I am to have you guys. There is not a day that goes by where we don’t talk and laugh and share thoughts, which is the best part of our friendship. We are our own little family.

I know as we all go off to different colleges, we will meet new friends, but just always remember your friends from home. It will be exciting to be off on your own and spending time with your new friends every day. Just remember when you return back home from college, I will be more than excited to see you again. I will be looking forward to Thanksgiving and Christmas break so we can all be together again! I hope you never forget the memories we have shared and the love we have for each other.

No matter how far away we might be from each other, I want you to know that I will always be here when you need me. Whether it be needing advice and help with something, or just someone to talk to. No matter how long it's been since we have talked, you can call me at any time and I will be there for you. Just because we aren't together anymore doesn’t mean I won’t be there for you guys!

I want you all to know that I believe in you and I know you will do amazing things as you go on to college. Focus on your goals and work hard like you always have. I know you guys will achieve anything you put your mind to and will be great at anything you decide to do in your life. I can’t wait to see all of the things you accomplish and I will be cheering you on no matter how far away we are from each other.

I wish nothing but the best for you all and could not be happier for you. No matter where life takes us I know we will always be friends forever!

Love you all!

Creating your schedule for the upcoming semester can be an exciting process. You have the control to decide if you want to have class two-days a week or five-days a week. You get to check things off of your requirement checklist. It's an opportunity for a fresh start with new classes (which you tell yourself you'll never skip.) This process, which always starts out so optimistic, can get frustrating really quickly. Here are 25 thoughts you have when registering for classes.

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.

11 Times Aubrey Plaza Described Sophomore Year

"I don't want to do things. I want to do not things."

Aubrey Plaza is one of my favorite humans in Hollywood. She's honest, blunt, unapologetic, and hilarious. I just started my sophomore year of college, and found that some of her best moments can accurately describe the start of the school year.

1. When your advisor tells you that you should declare a major soon.

2. Seeing the lost and confused freshmen and remembering that was you a short year ago, and now being grateful you know the ins and outs of the campus.

3. Going to the involvement fair to sign up for more clubs knowing that you are already too involved.

4. When you actually do the reading required for the first class.

5. Seeing your friends for the first time since last semester.

6. When you're already drowning in homework during syllabus week.

7. Realizing you don't have the same excitement for classes as you did as a freshman.

8. Going home and seeing people from high school gets weirder the older you get.
