I LOVE YOU SARAH.

A Letter to My Freshman Roommate
SARAH

Dear Roomie,

Here are some (but definitely not all) of the wonderful memories we have had together.

We have gone to Starbucks together three times (at the time that this article was written). The first was when I first officially met you. I knew you were trustworthy because you were wearing a Little Mermaid T-Shirt. We went shopping for dorm things (including the CUTEST pillow that says "Dorm Sweet Dorm") and color-coordinated everything. It was PERFECT. Then it rained a whole lot, and I left my sunglasses in your car until August. It was a wonderful day. The second time was in Athens, before we went to see the movie "Nerve." We took Snapchat videos in the car and talked about fish (spoiler alert). We got the same drink, but mine was hot and yours was cold. Classic. The third time, is my personal favorite. I was sitting on the floor, studying, and you came in the room and said, "I wish we could get Starbuck's delivered," To which, I replied, "Man, I could go for some Starbucks right now." The next thing I knew, you were making fun of how I parked in the Tate deck (pictured below), and we were having a grand time.

Once, we stayed up until 2 a.m. listening to music in Spanish and talking about band. It was the greatest, even though I was exhausted the next day.

You've keep a steady count of how many times I lay on our dorm room floor, too, my favorite of which is this one:

You've been with be through all my Redcoat moments, which made us grow even closer. Here we are after our first half-time performance as Redcoats!

Then we got a fish, and named her Ziva. And then she died and we were sad.

I met a lot of people in my Freshman year. I made a lot of friends, but none of them will be the same as you! It has been a blessing to share a room and a friendship with you. I will never forget all the memories we've made together. Thank you for laughing, crying, and living with me. You are truly the best, and I can't wait to see what kind of shenanigans we get into in the future. We may not always live together, but we will always be friends. I love you!

Love,

Your roommate.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
