A Letter to My Dog

Thanks for Being my Best Friend

A Letter to My Dog

Dear Puppy,

When I first got you, you were so little that you could easily curl up in my lap and sleep. You preferred chewing a number of contraband things such as blankets, glasses, and pens, but you were still my cute little puppy. At first, it seemed that I had simply gained an adorable new responsibility. Little did I know that you'd end up being my best friend.

You're literally always there. When I come home every day, you lift up your sleepy head from your nap and trot over to me to smell all the new smells I gathered while I was gone. You always insist on belly rubs and sleeping next to my feet, and you're always present with your big brown eyes whenever I eat. You get so excited when I ask if you want a treat, and I cherish all the cuddle times we have when I'm procrastinating in the mornings. All in all, you're the most present part of my life.

When the bad things happen, you know just what to do. You always know how to make things better, even if it's just letting me hug you and get tears and snot in your fur. It's like you have a sixth sense and can read exactly how I feel. You seem to share in both my joys and sadness, even when you can't actually understand them.

You also provide a great excuse to get out of unwarranted social events. Many a time have I used your necessary company as a means of staying home. You're also my excuse when I look crazy for talking to myself. Whenever I have leftover food I'm too crazy to throw away, sure enough, you're always there to take care of it for me.

While not everyone may see how cute you are, you will always be the most precious, adorable, beautiful pup to me. Even when you're old and grey, I will always see you as the lively puppy you once were. You're my pup, my walking buddy, and my best friend.

Love,

Dog Mom

It's officially December. There is less than a month of 2024, and I still feel like yesterday was summer. Now comes the merriest time of the year, the Christmas season.

Everyone has been waiting for this time of year since mid-October (which is way too early, in my opinion) or before. It's a time of love, family, memory-making, and gift-giving. A lot of times when I ask friends and family what they want, I get a lot of "I don't know" or "I don't care."

Bucket List To Live In The Now

Find excitement in your life and start exploring wherever you are right here, right now.

mu bucket list

I was sitting at my cubicle, now that I am an adult, looking at the rain pouring down on the windowsill, bumming on life, wishing for the rain to just stop for a full day.

There are moments where we count down the hours until work is over and how many more days till the weekend, and this many weeks until something exciting. Or something like that? Well, I was bumming because my next day off from work is not until Memorial Day weekend, which is not until the end of May. And since this is my first year out of college being a “real person,” I am totally missing the winter, spring and summer breaks. I am sure all of us have felt this way even if just for a hot minute…

If you go to or went to Kent State, then more than likely you have done or will do some of these things.

1. You’ve slipped and fallen on the ice at least once.

The winters at Kent are brutal, and while the heated sidewalks and some great snow boots are always a help, there’s no chance you won’t bust it on the ice at least once in your four plus years at school.
