A Letter To My Current Self - Stop With All Of The Self-Doubt

You are worth more than what you believe

A Letter To My Current Self - Stop With All Of The Self-Doubt

You are currently at a crossroad in your life, wondering if you have missed out on what you possibly wanted and wondering if all of the hard work you have put into school is worth it.

You doubt yourself too much. You often compare yourself to others, wondering why that one person had it better than you and wishing to be a little bit more like them.

You know what you need to do to better yourself, to have more confidence. You are well aware that in order to be happy and confident you have to start with you. Because what is worth of having praise and happiness from the outside when there is no praise and happiness within you.

All of your life you have dealt with weight issues, always being one of the bigger girls in the group and never feeling comfortable in your own body when the words “pool party" and “beach together" were mentioned with your gals.

Currently at a crossroad in your life, you ponder and wonder what it is you want to do with the rest of your life. Not because you are unsure, but rather because the opportunity has not presented itself.

The own words of advice you give to your dearest friends, you have to take for yourself.

Stop being lazy and just do it! Get up extra early, forget the nap, hit the gym and take care of yourself. Finally feel confident about wearing a bikini, and wearing it proudly.

All of those things you wanted to do as a child but couldn't, do now. It is never too late. Go to the acting class, try print modeling, learn how to play that instrument, get into dance classes and write that book you have always wanted to write.

Get out of your comfort zone. You have always shied away of groups dreading presentations and public speaking. Why? You are a pretty girl, intelligent, wise, and mature. Believe a little more in yourself and you will see how things start changing.

Also, try not to do it all at once; you are not invincible. Start little by little and most importantly, be proud of what you have accomplished, little by little. All of the little and big things life has brought you happened because they were meant to happen.

You often ponder, “Do we create our own destiny?" or “Destiny was created the day we were born."

There might be a little bit of truth to each. You are meant to be where you are at that exact place and time. But also know that it is up to you and only you, to accomplish all the dreams your heart desires and your mind depicts.

Anytime you doubt yourself, simply look back at all you have accomplished. You wanted to graduate college debt free, and you accomplished it! You busted your butt in high school, earned numerous scholarships and graduated with a double major; perhaps your biggest accomplishment so far and definitely not the last.

Keep going!

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!
