A Letter To My Boyfriend's Ex

I just want to say Thank you. Thank you for making it possible for me to meet someone who can remind me what butterflies feel like and for making it possible for me to love again.

I know you miss him and I am sure he misses you but right now I need him more. Thank you for letting him go. Thank you for letting him love again and love me. I am sure you both look back on the past. That is okay. You will always be his ex. You two will always have the past and I am grateful for that. If it wasn't for you, he wouldn't be here with me. You did everything just like it was planned and now I am the luckiest girl in the world. I found someone who I can love with my whole heart. I found someone that when I'm aggravated and want to give up will hug me and push me to keep going. I found someone who can make me laugh. I found someone who loves me. I am sure he loved you. I am sure you loved him. Thank you for that. Thank you for teaching him to be who he is. I know you know him like I do. I hope that something about you rubbed off on him and made him a better person, for me. I hope that you are happy as well. I do. I hope you find someone who you can love like Iove him,

Thank you for moving on. Thank you for arguing with him. Thank you not being the girl he was meant to be with. If it wasn't for yall arguing and not working me and him would not be together right now. So thank you for giving up. Thank you for letting him go. Thank you for not looking at him and realizing your whole again. Thank you for being you. I know that I am the new girlfriend and that you're not going to be okay with us together. It is okay for you to not like me. It will be okay. If I was his ex I wouldn't like his new girlfriend either. I am not mad at you. I know you won't always dislike me, or at least, I hope not.

I will tell you this. I love him. He is happy with me and he is becoming the man you always wished he would be. He is changing every day and even though it's not for you, he is a better man. All the things you wished are now coming true and I am sorry you can't be around to see.

So thank you for giving me the chance to fight for love, to help him grow into the person you knew he could be, for helping me love again and letting him move on without you.

Thank you,

His New Love

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

If it hurts now, it'll hurt again. Not because you're gullible or naive, only because you fall fast, hard, and you do it every time.

We fall each and every time with the complete and utter confidence that someone will be there to catch us. Now that person we SWORE we were never going to fall for has our hearts, and every time we see them our palms start sweating. The butterflies in our stomach start to soar and our hearts are entirely too close to bursting out of our chests.

10 Things Only Equestrians Understand

Yes, it IS a sport. Yes, I fall all the time. No, I do not ride in jeans with a cowgirl hat on.

Growing up I have always wanted to own a horse. My grandparents own a well known equestrian facility in Georgia, so I have been riding since I was born. A bond between a person and their horse is a bond so strong that it cannot be broken. Everywhere I went I wanted to be around horses, even forcing my family to go on trail rides during vacations. Horses have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember has taught me great responsibility, as well as 14 things that all equestrians can relate to.

College is super hard. Between working, studying, and having a social life, it feels like a struggle to just keep afloat.

I understand. When you feel like your drowning and there's no way to stay afloat I understand that it feels like everyone else is doing just fine. I understand all the frustration, long nights in the library, and that feeling that you want to just throw in the towel. I understand that sometimes it's too hard to get out of bed because your brain is already filled with too much information to remember. I understand because I am also feeling pretty burnt out.

No Matter How Challenging School Gets, You Have To Put Your Health First — A Degree Won't Mean Anything If You're Dead

Some of the best advice I've ever received was from my social studies teacher in sophomore year of high school. He stated, "If you don't know it at midnight, you're not going to know it for the 8 a.m. exam, so get some sleep."

It's such a simple piece of advice, but it holds so much accuracy and it's something that the majority of college students need to hear and listen to. "All-nighters" are a commonality on college campuses in order to cram in studying for an exam that is typically the next day.
