A Letter To My Big Sister
Taylor Robinson

To my big sister:

I am writing this to say thank you. Also, a little bit because you have been bugging me to write an article about you, and I ran out of excuses not to. No, for real, I want to take the time to thank you for 20 years of annoying me, giving me someone to look up to, and always being there for me. You really are the best big sister a girl could ask for, even if I do not say it enough.

I appreciate you always being there for me. Whenever I need to talk, you are always there. Even if we were fighting over something stupid, I’m crying over someone not important enough, or we are away from each other, you are always there for me. You always listen to every crazy thought that enters my head and silly thing I worry about and help me feel better.

Thank you for putting up with me. We have always been quick to fight over the littlest thing. Like, when we used to fight every day on the way to school in middle school. But we always get over it, even when I’m being a little crazy. Thank you for always looking out for me and dealing with me, even when I send you multiple texts in a row and you hate me for it.

Thank you for being one of the strongest women I know. Next to Mom, of course, you are the strongest woman in my life. You work so hard at school, work, and now as a mother, and it absolutely amazes and inspires me. You have not let anything get in the way of your goals and dreams, even when it gets hard, and I look up to you so much for it.

Thank you for giving me a nephew. Hunter is not even here yet and I already love being an aunt. I am so excited to spoil that little boy more than I already do, take him on adventures, and watch him grow up. Thank you for everything you do for him and how hard you already work for him. I notice it and admire how wonderful of a mother you already are to that little boy. I am so excited for the journey of being an aunt and to see you as a mother.

Love,

Your little sister.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

singing
Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
