Dear Broski,

You know how people always ask how far back a person can remember and more often than not its more specific memories that are remembered rather than an age when it started? Well almost every memory from my childhood that stands out is with you. The big brother I was always too naive to admit that I needed around.

I always thought that I wanted a sister and wondered what it would be like. However, I couldn't have been more blessed than I am to have you as my big brother.

You always played dolls with me and would pretend like you didn't enjoy it but your secret isn't safe anymore because I could tell you actually enjoyed it. Whether it was the doll playing itself or spending time with your little sister. Some of my other favorite memories with you are all when we are older. Regardless of everyone thinking we are dating, hanging out with you is still one of my favorite past times. Playing board games till we are so delirious we can't anymore, shooting hoops, getting sibling dogs and raising them together, tailgating, eating at new restaurants, watching football games even when its a total down poor and freezing cold with no jackets and so much more. I wouldn't trade any moment I have had with you for anything else, or with anyone else.

People have always envied our relationship and wondered how we never fought and I guess we have are parents to thank for forcing us to play outside or with each other all these years, but I think that God has strategically made us able to get along because we need each other in this crazy messed up and amazing life. You will forever be my best friend, my protector, and my big brother. Thanks for letting me hang out with you until you realized you actually love having your little sis around.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
