An Open Letter To My Best Friends

This is for all of my best friends.

To Adela,

Adela. we have been friends for about nine years and it is amazing how far we have come. You were my first friend that I made when I moved to Pennsylvania. We have had our fights and our bad times but we always overcame them and came out stronger. I can go to you for anything and I know you would not judge me. We have had a lot of laughs and memories together that make everything worthwhile. Since you had Bubby and Bean, they too have become part of my life and I cannot wait to see how they grow up. Thank you for always being there for me and listening to the many stories, complaints, and heartbreaks that I have shared with you. I love you.

To Llama Squad,

Natalie, Ashley, Jess, Paige, Hannah, Rita, Sam and to any that I did not remember, you guys have made my freshman and sophomore years at Cabrini great ones to remember. I cannot believe we are incoming juniors! The years have just flown by. We have been through a lot together and survived. We have created great memories from late night walks to Wawa, going on an adventure through Bryn Mawr, study sessions in East or in the library, and drives to Starbucks. This year will be a greater one to remember. Every one of you has a special place in my heart. I cannot wait to see where this year brings us. Thank you all for being some of the greatest people I have met and being there for me when I need you. Also thanks for putting up with me. I love you all.

To my Roommates;

Natalie, Amber, and Liz, this year will be an adventure. We all may not get along at some moments, but what relationship is all rainbows and butterflies? I want to say that I am excited to see how this year will play out. Nat, we are really close and I can share everything with you. I can't wait to spend another year rooming with you even though we fight. I love you! Amber, we grew close this past year, and I hope everything will still be the same. Remember I am here for you if you ever need to talk about anything I will always listen. Liz, I know we haven't really hung out as much, but I hope that can change this year.

Thank you all of you who have helped make my life better by having such great friends! I love you all and cannot wait to see where the years to come will lead us.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

winter

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
