The conservatives hear you. Take it from me, they have heard and the liberal banter only continues to cause them to dig their heels in further. I can promise you that it is not advancing your cause, but instead it is damaging it. We are in a state of reactionary politics and the backlash will only grow stronger with the ongoing liberal anger.
Let’s be real for a few seconds. President Trump is facing investigation. However, in our land of the free and home of the brave, all are innocent until proven guilty. Therefore, impeachment is not realistic. The democratic candidates who base their entire campaign on the impeachment of Trump are basically making a claim to do nothing at all. I can guarantee, though, that they will be candidates who will further the damaged conditions of party relations in the United States, however.
The Democratic Liberals and the Republican Conservatives are about as divided as they have ever been in the US’s history. Party relations are terribly low, making it very difficult to accomplish much of anything. More than that, tensions are running high all over the US. Resentment and anger are higher than ever between the two political parties.
How did we get to the extreme point of having a president with such a low approval rating? Much commentary points to the resentment held by the conservatives toward the liberals for such a long time. The conservatives felt ignored under the Obama Administration for eight years. After feeling not only ignored, but criticized for two presidential terms, they had built up anger, and thus, the reactionary term began.
This is the point at which liberals have control once more. They may have an option over how they react to the reactionary conservatism. If they react with anger and resentment as the conservatives did, they may have their own reactionary term after this one. However, if they change the momentum at which this country is headed and keep the focus of the liberal party in mind, the rate at which the US is headed may change for the better.
I fear for the reactionary extremist politics our country has begun to follow. It is not only a childish reaction of, “I didn’t get my way last time so I will make the other side miserable now.” It is similar to playing with fire. Highly dangerous and involves a great risk.
At this point, the conservative party has made its choice to follow reactionary politics. In a few years, I am sure that the liberal party will be given the same choice. I pray that they will be wiser in their choosing and that they will lead us down a safer road.
