Open Letter To My Future Little

Here's to you; here's to me. Big and Little we'll always be.

Dear Future Little,

There are not enough words to describe how excited I am to meet you. I have been thinking about and planning for you for months. I can't wait to spoil you with crafts and introduce you to everyone with, "This is my Little!" Before I officially become your Big, there are some things I want you to know.

I am always down for a Big/Little date.

From getting dinner to working on homework to cuddling while watching a movie. If you want someone to just sit with you, I'm your girl. If you want some chocolate and ice cream because some irrelevant boy hurt you, I'll be there in five minutes.

I will always support you.

Please note, little one, that this does not mean I will always agree with you. I know you'll do things that I don't like or approve of and, trust me, I'll tell you. But in the end it's your decision, and I will support it. Even when you decide to date a boy who I know just isn't good enough for you. (But since I'm going to be your Big, I'll think that everyone isn't good enough for you. That's just what Bigs do.)

I want to listen to everything and anything.

The good, the bad, the pretty, the ugly. I want to listen to everything. I don't want you ever saying, "I really want to tell my Big this, but I don't think she cares." I do. I 100% care. Even if it's just about how annoying this kid in your class is. At the same time, I don't want you to feel pressured to tell me something. I'm not going to force you to tell me every single detail about your life if you don't want to. Just know that if you do, I'm here to listen.

I will always love you.

Bigs and Littles fight. That's something I didn't know when I got my Big. But I want you to know that no matter how bad our fights are, I will always love you. Even if it seems like I want nothing to do with you, I love you and am there for you. I will never leave you alone; you will always have me in your corner cheering for you.

Little, I have no idea who you are or when you'll come into my life. Maybe it'll be in a few weeks, maybe in a year. Either way, just know that I am so excited to be your Big.

Love You Always,

Your Future Big

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Everybody gets sick once in a while, but getting sick while in college is the absolute worst. You're away from home and your mom who can take care of you and all you really want to do is just be in your own bed. You feel like you will have never-ending classwork to catch up on if you miss class, so you end up going sick and then it just takes longer to get better. Being sick in college is really tough and definitely not a fun experience. Here are the 15 stages that everyone ends up going through when they are sick at college.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
