Dear Creators,
By choosing to create, we release our own imagination in way that can open the minds of others. Content creation is one of the greatest inspirations in the world, but To inspire others we must first be inspired ourselves.
Never stop creating.
If you love to make music, make beats on your phone and sing or freestyle over them. If you love to write, create a WordPress blog or write in a journal. If you love photography, go outside and take pictures of things you see as beautiful in nature or in your neighborhood.
Regardless of what kind of content you like to make, never lose that drive to create.
I personally love writing. Whether it's poetry, blogging, essays, or stories, if it involves writing, then I want to do it. With this in mind, I joined the Odyssey. It was a dream come true because I got to share my passion with others who have similar interests to mine.
When I started, I would write articles that would get over 50 views, some over 100, and I even have one nearing 300 views. And it felt amazing. I could not actually believe that hundreds of people cared about what's on my mind. As a result, I would write more and more, nonstop as if it were my job.
Now I'm on my 20th article (this being it) and lately I have seen a significant dip in my views. It really had me starting to question myself. Sitting around the house or staring at myself in the reflection of my laptop asking myself,
"Is my content bad?"
"Is my content not hitting home with my target audience?" "
Am I even a good writer?"
And I will be honest: it started to gnaw at me for a while. It seemed like when my deadline would come up, I was not nearly as enthusiastic about writing my articles as I was at the start.
It sounds dramatic, but every content creator hits this metaphorical wall where we question if we are good enough or if it's worth it. Hell, no matter what field you pursue, there will always be times where you are going to doubt yourself.
But it's not about the falling down or the failing. It's about how we pick ourselves back up and continue to persevere.
This perseverance is what truly displays our passion for our craft as creators and our character as people. Content creation is supposed to be a release and reflect who we are. Nothing and nobody can take that away from you. Your content is meant to make YOU happy and reflect how YOU feel. So to all my fellow creators:
Stay inspired, continue to strive, and embrace your imagination.
Sincerely Yours,
A Fellow Creator
