It's your senior year. Lots of new, exciting, scary and big things are about to come. I wish I could be there with you to see it all, but I'm 700 miles away at college. Last year, you were there for me. During the exciting beginning of the year, the senioritis during the middle and not wanting to leave at the end. Granted I am still seeing you go through these things, it's at a greater distance.
I'm sorry I picked a college so far away from you, but you'll soon be picking colleges and if you go far from home, you will understand what I'm feeling. Soon it will be time to order your cap and gown, even though graduation isn't until May. Next comes signing up for the big senior trip. It may seem lame and expensive but it's really fun and worth the money. And then you get ready for your last homecoming. That and applying for colleges starts the feeling that you will soon be leaving high school, this safe place that you've grown to know over the last four years.
It may seem scary or weird that you realize there is going to be a time soon that you won't walk those hallways or through the front doors. The thought of that is hard, but its all worth it in the end. There is no greater feeling than walking across that stage at graduation and getting your diploma. Everything you did and worked so hard for over those last four years is finally recognized. I know I might not have been there to see the final process but it's almost guaranteed that I won't miss that stage walking diploma receiving moment for anything in the world. You were there for mine and I will be there for yours. I am writing this from 700 miles away and I promise I'll come home soon. I love you best friend and I'm always here for you.
Sincerely,
Your best friend from 700 miles away.
P.S. I love and miss you so much.
