Just be you.

In today's society, you are not given many options as to what you can be or what you can look like without someone stopping you and putting you on their snapchat story or talking about you to their friends. Some people do not take the time to consider the fact that the girl they sit next to in class is wearing the same clothes because that's all she has or that the guy walking in the hallway smelling is because he may not have a shower at home.

Today, people do not care whether you are black or white. They care about the clothes you wear, how recent your J's are or how perfect your wing eye liner is because you have to be "fye." Not everyone has the talent of dong a perfect stroke of a brush; not everyone has a steady hand. So, please do not discriminate against someone who cannot do their makeup perfectly. Please do not make fun of the kid who has last year's J's on because that may be the only pair of shoes he has, and you have more pairs than he has ever owned.

Please pay attention to what you say to others, please note that some people do remember everything and that some are more tender than others. You may be able to joke around and call someone you hang out with a "hoe" but you can say it to someone you may not know so well and they take it completely to heart. Simply because you feel as if you're joking does not mean that person also takes it the same way; not everyone thinks alike.

To the kids who cannot afford things and get by with what they have, you will have greatness if you believe. If you want to achieve greatness, never give up, get an education, make something of yourself and prove to those who put you down that you can be extraordinary! To those who can afford these things, remember that mom and dad are not always going to pay for everything and hard work comes with a price. Sometimes you may have to give up a purse for a grocery list. Being on your own is not easy, but being on your own can teach you so much. It's actually a great experience and you can also be extraordiary! Do not look down on people who are not as wealthy as you, look down on those who make fun of the less fortunate, because unfortunately they have no heart.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

Blair Waldorf
Stop Hollywood

For those of you who have watched "Gossip Girl" before (and maybe more than just once), you know how important of a character Blair Waldorf is. Without Blair, the show doesn’t have any substance, scheme, or drama. Although the beginning of the show started off with Blair’s best friend Serena returning from boarding school, there just simply is no plot without Blair. With that being said, Blair’s presence in the show in much more complex than that. Her independent and go-getter ways have set an example for "Gossip Girl" fans since the show started and has not ended even years after the show ended. Blair never needed another person to define who she was and she certainly didn’t need a man to do that for her. When she envisioned a goal, she sought after it, and took it. This is why Blair’s demeanor encompasses strong women like her.

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
