Dear Mom & Dad,

I want to take a moment and recognize two of the most important people in my life. You have done so much for me and beyond more. I can’t thank you enough for everything you have done and sometimes when I get angry I tend to take it out on you and I don’t mean to at all but sometimes it comes out. At times your parents are the ones that you release your anger towards when you’re in a bad mood, but you don’t necessarily mean it. I know we fight sometimes and don’t get along but just know that I will always love you and nothing can ever change that.

Going far away for college also gave me a bigger appreciation for the both of you and made me think of how fortunate I truly am. I was unsure about going far away for college because of how close I was with you guys leading to college and how much I would miss the two of you. I was scared about being my own and not having my parents harping on me about the little things like cleaning my room or doing the dishes. You have taught me to put others before yourself and I will never stop doing that for as long as I live.Throughout high school, we have fought often becuase we had different opinions but I regret it with all my heart because being thousands of miles from you guys has made me so much more grateful.

I have beaten myself up about fighting with you when I came to college because I have never missed you both more than I have during my college years and just wish I could go back and take everything back. Coming to college, I would call you everyday because it would instantly make my day better. I have taken you guys for granted and I apologize for that because I have no idea and can’t imagine life without either of you. I would not be who I am without you. I know that whatever happens in my life that you will support and love me unconditionally.

You have taught me so much that I will never forget and continue to use for the rest of my life. As both of you have taught me to never give up and just know that everything will work out in the end. Mom and dad, you’ve been the best role models for me and I will always follow in your footsteps. You have brought me so many amazing qualities, and I can’t think of a time in my life that I didn’t need you by my side. You are both the most intelligent people I have ever come across. You know me better than anyone else and you can tell if I am upset, happy, sad, or whatever emotion I am feeling you know how to handle it as well as how to make me feel better.

So thank you mom and dad for giving me the best life I could imagine!
