Dear Dad,

I want to start this off by saying thank you for being the man that you are. I know that as I get older, I may not show it as much, but just know that everything you do for me doesn't go unnoticed.

1. Thank you for being my number one fan.

Whether it was on the field, or in school, or just things that I've accomplished, you've always been there rooting for me. Whenever I've accomplished anything throughout my life, you've made sure I've known that you're proud of me.

2. Thank you for always putting our family first.

No matter what we need, or what event we have, you're always there.

3. Thank you for setting the perfect example of what a father is.

I pray that one day my husband is half the dad that you are.

4. Thank you for introducing me to sports.

Because I cherished every catch we had together.

5. Thank you for putting up with me.

I'm sure dealing with three girls isn't easy and can drive you insane, but I think you've done a pretty good job at dealing with it.

6. Thank you for always being there.

No matter what day or what time, I can always count on you.

7. Thank you for always motivating me.

With your motivation and mom's, I know I can achieve anything.

8. Thank you for the countless times you've driven me and my friends around, or have driven to my tournaments.

Because hearing girls talk about drama isn't exciting, nor is sitting on a soccer field all day.

9. Thank you for teaching me what love is all about.

Seeing the way you treat mom is the perfect example of what a genuine, caring husband is.

10. Thank you for the always believing in me.

Even though I still thought that boats ran on coal up until a few years ago.

There's a million things I can thank you for, but most importantly, thank you for being my dad. You're definitely the best, and maybe the coolest.

Love always,

Your daughter.

Being a part of any organization undoubtedly comes with the pitfalls of being grouped into negative stereotypes, and sororities are certainly no exception. Here are the top few things, that I find at least, are some of the most irritating misconceptions that find their way into numerous conversations...

8. "The whole philanthropy thing isn't real, right?"

Well all those fundraisers and marketing should would be a waste then wouldn't they?

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Daydreaming

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.
