Dear undeclared, “pre-major” student,
You don’t need to know what you want to be when you “grow up,” which is suddenly in the near future. You don’t need to have your life together right now.
It may seem like everyone you has a grip on the rest of their lives, but they don’t. The reality is that plans change all the time, and it’s more than okay.
Being “undeclared” is the best spot to be in because you are blank slate, open to the array of possibilities before you. Enjoy it -- enjoy trying new things and exploring new subjects. You may happen to run into your passion along the way!
Once you find it, run fast with it and dig deep into it. You could even find multiple passions, deepening your love for life.
Please don’t believe your major ties you down forever.
Whatever you pursue, pursue it with passion and purpose, and that’s where you’ll thrive.
The world is at your fingertips.
Sincerely,
The girl who took two years to find her fit.
