A Letter To The Shy Girls: Told By A Shy GIrl

Dear Shy Girls,

I know school isn't what you look forward to because of how many projects there are. You would rather do all of the work than present it to the class of people who are not relevant to you. Making friends is hard because you don't talk as much has you should. You're in your own bubble, but you don't mind because life is simpler like that. Keeping your head down so you don't get called on in class. You pretend to know the material so you don't have to ask questioned.

High school is the time to get over the shyness you have. Being in college and being shy is a bad way to find out what you need. It's a time in your life where finding friends is going to help you be okay with not being home. You start to find out who you really are. You are going to ask questions and feel uncomfortable at times and will have to stand up in front of people that you have to clue about.

Finding a job is going to be hard, but you'll get over it. The obstacles in life will better yourself and prepare you for what is to come. Find a loud guy that compliments your style. Learn from him. He will help you socially.

Lastly, be yourself. Don't be fake. You never were in high school so don't be now. You'll find your family here. Don't risk losing them. Try something new that you never thought you would ever do. Let loose, don't be so uptight.

Sincerely,

A fellow shy girl

The Perks of Being a Girl

“I just want you to know that you’re very special… and the only reason I’m telling you is that I don’t know if anyone else ever has.”

We Heart It

Over the past decade, television has undergone a very crucial transition: the incorporation of female lead characters. Since it's a known fact that girls actually do run the world (Beyonce said so herself), it's time for the leading ladies of the small screen to get some credit. Without these characters, women would still be sitting in the background of our favorite shows. These women are not only trailblazers for female empowerment, but role models for women worldwide. With that, here are 15 of the smartest, sassiest ladies gracing our screens that remind us that women do, indeed, rule:
