Dear Roommate,
Currently, you are dealing with me complaining about not knowing what to write for this weeks article as I procrastinate just a bit too long. Little do you know that I looked at you and decided to write you a letter. Where do I even begin?
First off, I want to start by apologizing for not always cleaning up after myself when I paint or sometimes having random stacks of papers on my desk. I know it drives you insane but you just shrug it off because you know I will get it done...eventually.
Even though we rarely see each other because we are in two completely different worlds with our majors, I enjoy looking forward to going back to the room and having our daily 5-minute conversations about anything and everything. To our late nights eating chips and cheese to the early mornings where you practically drag me out of bed, I just want to let you know that I appreciate you. You are always there when I'm down and can be brutally honest with me when I'm being overdramatic. Having both of those qualities in a person is rare.
From the rave sessions of looking at pictures of our dream dogs to watching "How I Met Your Mother" on repeat, and finally our many, many, out of tune jam sessions, I'm happy that we became friends and can stand each other enough to live with one another.
I know I never say it enough but I just want to let you know how proud I am of you. You've accomplished so many things! From FINALLY figuring out what you want to major in, to getting accepted into the Exercise Physiology program here on campus, I can't wait to see what else the year brings. I'm also so incredibly excited to see what the years to follow bring.
Thank you for constantly knowing what I'm supposed to be doing, even when I don't. Without you, I would have missed many meetings, lessons, and who knows what else. Thank you for dealing with my weirdness. Not many people get to experience this side of me, and you accept it with flying colors. Thank you for not judging me. Thank you for accepting me.
Thank you for being one of the few people who could see that I truly hated what I was planning to major in my freshman year. Without you, I probably would still be doing something in subconsciously hated. Thank you for agreeing with me, disagreeing with me, arguing with me, and most importantly being a fabulous friend. Whether you realize it or not, you have basically become my best friend. If we want to be literally, I can technically call you my sister due to the fact we are in the same sorority. Oh, and also thanks for dragging me to those recruitment events even after I said I would never be apart of Greek life. I gained some amazing people because of it.
While I could go on and on about how amazing you are I just want to leave this letter with this:
You are special, you are beautiful, you are loved.
Thank you for being you.
Love,
Your Crazy Roommate
