A Thank You Letter From A Rho Gam

Sorority fall recruitment is coming to an end at most universities, and the exhaustion and excitement is settling in among new members and actives as they meet their new sisters. I was a recruitment counselor this year (#rushrhogam except we don't rush, it's recruitment) and in my mind not only did I gain the 91 beautiful new members as sisters, but also 52 beautiful new friends from my group.

So here is a letter to my PNM's no matter where you are, just know I will always have your backs:

Dear rho gam group,

Thank you for being some of the best potential new members I could ever ask for. Whether you stayed through all of recruitment or not, I am so thankful to have met all 52 of you. I feel like in the two weekends we spent together, you all actually helped me become that much more of a better person. From the tears together & telling stories that had nothing to do with recruitment, I was able to see how genuine you all are. I knew from the beginning any chapter would be lucky to have every single one of you. I know that wherever you girls are now, you are thriving. Me, and your other rho gams, will always have your backs, always down to grab some starbs, spend nights together, whatever it may be.

Thank you all for always being real, never holding back, and becoming our own little group of sisters. Thank you for showing me why I wanted to be a rho gamma to begin with and showing me time and time again why ASU's panhellenic community is so amazing. I hope you all are so happy in your new homes, and I hope we had an impact on your recruitment experience because you all had a big impact on my time doing this.

#Group3Forever

Love,

Your Rho Gam

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
