A Letter To Myself

It's been a long, wicked year. You've come a long way from where you were back then.

It's going to suck.

I'm not gonna lie and say that next year is going to be lighthearted and fun, because it's not. You know better than that. Most of the time, you'll only have yourself to blame and you'll be the only one helping yourself back up.

So just a few pieces of advice for the coming year:

College dreams will be crushed and remade from the dust, so make sure you don't lose hope. It may seem like a huge leap, which it is, but you're totally capable. Give yourself pep talks of the most reinvigorating kind. Remember that the more positivity you put bring into the world, the more positivity you will get out of it.

It'll be overwhelming when you have to do things. It's easy to put them off. But just do them. Make it easier on yourself and lift those heavy errands from your shoulders. Once you're done, you'll feel better than you did before.

Make time for yourself. Your health is important and without it, you can't do much else. Keep time to yourself sacred, take care of your body, and give it time to heal from scars of all kinds. Forgive yourself. No amount of forgiveness from others can substitute the apologies you owe to yourself.

Try to be happy, even if you feign it. You won't be feigning it for long.

It'll suck, but it will be worth it.

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?

I've been super busy lately with school work, studying, etc. Besides the fact that I do nothing but AP chemistry and AP economics, I constantly think of stupid questions that are almost impossible to answer. So, maybe you could answer them for me, and if not then we can both wonder what the answers to these 15 questions could be.
