In light of recruitment almost coming to an end, I can only say the least, that what an experience it has been.
From chanting songs, to having the most amazing conversations with the most amazing girls, I don’t regret any of the days that I have gone through.
Speaking from past experiences, being a freshman last year, and being on the recruiting side this year, it is so nice to finally actually recruit girls, to come and be apart of my sisterhood. Those few words will never get old for me. I have something that I call my own, and I am so happy that I get to share that will all of the other amazing girls in my chapter.
Going Greek was the best decision I have ever made in my entire life. These women will change your lives forever. It’s not just for four years; it’s for life. That means more to me than anyone will ever know. As recruitment sadly comes to a close, and bid day is almost upon us, I would like to say a few words, to the future women of my chapter:
Live every moment to the fullest, and don’t hold back on anything. Go to all of the philanthropy events; you get to meet so many people there, (including some cute boys), that you never thought you would be able to meet. Have the time of your fricken life at pref., and dance with your sisters all night long. Do as much community service as you are able to do, because helping out other people, means so much more to them than you actually realize. Be involved; take on a leadership position and really show us what you can do. You could be the one to carry this chapter one day, so don’t be afraid to step up and show us what you’ve got.
Going through recruitment may have been the hardest thing I have ever gone through. Trust me when I say this, it is so worth it in the end when you finally receive your bid, and you get to join the most amazing group of girls you will ever meet. These are the girls that will be there for you when you are in need of a helping hand. These are the girls that will make an endless amount of Starbucks runs with you. These are the girls that will be here for you when you need a shoulder to cry on. These are the women that carry this chapter; perhaps that is what being a sister is all about.
Joining a sorority is not about partying, or seeing if you can break you’re all time record for a keg stand. We don’t have endless amounts of pillow fights in our underwear, with feather’s flying everywhere. What we do have is a group of people to be there for you whenever you need them. What we have is that support system, when you may not have one to lean back on. What we have is something truly irreplaceable. There are not enough words in the dictionary to even describe how much these women mean to me. Over the past year, I have gotten to know a group of extraordinary women. We’ve laughed, cried, laughed till we cried, but more importantly, we have become sisters. What more could a girl ask for?
