To my lovely college friends,

We have only been together for a semester and a few days, but without you, my college experience wouldn't be the same.

Coming into a new school and environment and having to leave behind some really special people, my expectations were low of what was to come.

I never thought I could meet people that could care so deeply about me in a short time.

Trust is not an easy thing to come by, but little did I know our first week at college we would spend our first Friday night up to till 2 am talking in the hallway.

Neither could I fathom that I would meet friends who rushed to the hospital for me, after only knowing me for three weeks and watched me sleep for 3 hours, so I wouldn't wake up alone.

You have hugged me when I've cried and supported me through heartbreak. In fact, it takes a special someone to truly show empathy by getting down on a lawn (yes, someone's lawn) and comfort me as I cry.

Not all of our memories have been sad or dramatic, in fact, my favorite are some of the simplest things. Our Chinese and movie dates. Piling into a bed and falling asleep. Our moments in small group. Or dinner dates after chapter. Oh, and we can't forget bonding over my *awesome* dance moves.

Actions speak louder than words. Whether we live in the same dorm, or on the other side of campus from each other, you have never failed to come when I needed a friend. You cheer me on in everything I do, and remind me of my worth and value, more than I could ever ask for. I thank the Lord for putting you into my life, for I don't know how I got so lucky.

Whether we're praising Jesus together or dancing at parties together, I am so glad I have you in my life. I remember praying asking God before college to give me one real and genuine friend. Well, He answered, in His way not my time.

God didn't give me one, real genuine friend. God gave me all of you. My roommate, hall mates, sorority sisters, small group, and many others, you all have taught me what a friend looks like.

Home is where the heart is they say. Each of you has made James Madison home for me, by showing me the kindness and love of your hearts. Never could I imagine myself being anywhere else and with anyone else.

I couldn't be happier, and so much of that is all thanks to you.

Sincerely,

Your Thankful Friend

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Everybody gets sick once in a while, but getting sick while in college is the absolute worst. You're away from home and your mom who can take care of you and all you really want to do is just be in your own bed. Being sick in college is really tough and definitely not a fun experience. Here are the 15 stages that everyone ends up going through when they are sick at college.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
