Dear Future Husband

Dear Future Husband,

I don’t know who you are, but I think about you often. I wonder what your favorite food is and what you’re scared of. I wonder what color your eyes are and where you grew up. I think about our future, and wonder about what God has in store for us.

I hope that wherever you are, you are working hard and that you are happy. And know that I am doing well, even without being with you.

I hope that when we meet, it will be love at first sight. I hope that you’ll hold my hand and open the door for me on our dates. And know that if you act like a gentleman, I will act like a lady.

I hope that you’ll be my person to turn to when I am happy, sad, angry, or tired. And know that I will always do the same for you.

I hope you’ll forgive me when I say something I didn’t mean or make a mistake. And know that I will always find it in my heart to forgive you.

I hope that you give me a love that makes me forget about all the times I have been hurt and laugh at all the old boyfriends. I hope that you won’t only put up with my imperfections, but love me even more for them. And know that I will love you more because of your own flaws.

I hope that when you get down on one knee and propose, that you got my daddy’s blessing, and that you surprise me (good luck). And know that I will probably cry and fall even more in love with you.

I hope that on our wedding day, you won’t hate me for being a crazy bridezilla, and that you’ll cry when you see me and kiss me long and hard after saying our vows. I also hope that you know that even though I will spend endless hours trying to make it perfect, in the end, the day will be perfect because I will get to marry you.

I hope you’ll pray with me when the times get tough, and that we can build on our relationship with God together. And know that I will pray for you, always.

I hope we’ll grow old together. I hope you’ll love me unconditionally and forever, because that’s exactly how I will love you.

My greatest hope is that in you I will find a best friend, a perfect love and a soulmate all in one. I hope that we will build each other up and love each other constantly, and that you always make me feel like the most important girl in the world.

I can’t wait for the day when I will meet you, and for the day I get to love you. But for now, I can only wait and trust in God’s plan.

Love,

Your Future Wife

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
