Dear Future Husband

Thank you for not finding me right away.

Everyday Lovely

Dear Future Husband,

I may have already met you or I might meet you in five years, but either way this letter is for you. It is strange to me that you’re off doing your own thing and I am sitting in this room writing a letter to you. You could be anywhere, far across the world or in the same town as me. I wonder what you’re like? Are you out there looking for me? I hope life is treating you fair. I hope you are happy.

I want you to know that I am doing well. I am going to college and pursuing my dreams. I am chasing after the things I love and building lifelong friendships. I am spending time with my family and my heart is happy. I also want you to know that I have grown closer to my faith in the process of waiting for you, and I will forever be grateful to you for that. When I feel weak at times or uncertain about the process, I pray to God for guidance and peace.

I want to thank you. Thank you for not finding me right away. There is nothing wrong with having a high school sweetheart, and I think at times I wish that would have been my fate. Now looking back, not finding you yet is the best gift I could ever ask for. I have had plenty of time to figure out who I am and what I want out of this life. I have learned how to make myself happy, and I have mastered the key to independence. I don’t need someone to hold my hand every step of the way. I know how to make my own decisions and how to lean on my friends and family for help when I feel lost. When I see my friends with their boyfriends I can easily become bitter, but then I remind myself that you are out there somewhere.

I want you to know that I will be ready someday. I hope that you are intelligent, motivated, kind and funny. I hope that you love God more than you love me. I hope you treat your mom with respect and that you have a strong relationship with your father. I hope that your siblings love me and I hope that you love mine. I want you to know that I will be ready for all of our crazy adventures. I want to travel the world with you someday. Backpack through Europe, go to concerts, road trip, I want to do it all with you! I will be ready for a life full of happiness. I want to figure out our hardships together and laugh until we have a six pack.

I want you to know that I am not upset that I have waited this long to know who you are. Wherever you are and whenever we meet will be the perfect timing because it will be the time that God has planned for us. I sure do hope that you’re ready for this crazy love story that we will create someday. Until then, I will pray for you, I will wait for you, and I will continue to live this wonderful life of mine.

Sincerely,

Your Future Wife

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!

There is nothing quite like family.

Family is kinda like that one ex that you always find yourself running back to (except without all the regret and the angsty breakup texts that come along with it).

No matter how long your class is, there's always time for the mind to wander. Much like taking a shower or trying to fall asleep, sitting in a classroom can be a time when you get some of your best ideas. But, more than likely, you're probably just trying to mentally cope with listening to a boring lecturer drone on and on. Perhaps some of the following Aristotle-esque thoughts have popped into your head during class.

Advice To Live By As Told By Bob's Burgers

The Belchers hold the key to a better life.

Bob's Burgers is arguably one of the best and most well-written shows on tv today. That, and it's just plain hilarious. From Louise's crazy antics to Tina's deadpan self-confidence, whether they are planning ways to take over school or craft better burgers, the Belchers know how to have fun. They may not be anywhere close to organized or put together, but they do offer up some wise words once and awhile.
