Dear future boyfriend,

First and foremost, I would like to say that you are going to have your hands full with me. This is not a part time position, being my boyfriend is a full time thing. I will not accept anything less than all of you. I know my worth. I can be stubborn, I can be whiney, sometimes I am needy, and sometimes I can be moody. However; my love will make up for those moments. My love is pure and will only be yours and only yours.

There are somethings you should know about me. The first, is that I have been hurt, lied to, cheated on and used. But I will give you the same fair chance I have given the men in the past. Even though my past has been rocky, I will not use it against you. I know that our relationship is a chance at real happiness. The next, is that I am goofy. It’s something I hope you can put up with, because it’s not necessarily a bad thing. I will do everything I can to make you laugh on your worst days. Your smile alone, will make me smile. The next thing is that sometimes I will just need my space. It has nothing to do with you, but sometimes I will just need my own time. I’ll need my girl time, just like I know you’ll need your bro time. The next thing you should know is that I am going to be proud of you. I am going to want you to meet my family and friends, I will want to show you off to the world. The next thing, is that sometimes I get stuck in my head. It’s easy for me to get lost there. I will need you to help me get out of there. Most importantly, you should know our relationship isn’t going to be easy. We are going to have arguments; we are going to have fights. I know that we are both only human and we have flaws. You should know that I will accept and love all your flaws.

I am rooting for us; I will always have your back. I want nothing more than to see you happy. I know that you are a work in progress, just like me. I want us to build together. I know it is going to take some time, but with God guiding us, we can do anything. As long as you treat me right, I’ll be there. Even if we live in a tiny apartment with brown tap water, I will be there. Because our love will be more important than material things. I am a gem and I hope that you will recognize that, because I can be the best thing to happen to you. I will always make sure you don’t feel alone; that you are loved, wanted, happy, and needed. I will help you to follow your dreams all while holding your hand. I promise, it won’t be easy, but it will be worth it.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
