My dearest child,

It makes me so incredibly sad to see that you are hurting in this way. It fills me with such sorrow that this life that should always be filled with love and joyful adventures can leave you feeling so empty and broken. This is not my wish for you. My wishes and plans for you are totally and completely good, wholesome and perfect for you. They are to prosper you and not to harm you (Jer 29:11). I know that this may be a little hard for you to believe right now, in the midst of your struggles, but I set this path in motion before you were born (Jer 1:5). However, it is not my desire to see you struggling like this - please believe that, my beloved child.

I hate to see you hurting. It is my deepest desire that you can place your trust in me and let me lead you through this terrifying part of your journey. I want to comfort you and carry you through this difficult time into the perfect plan I have envisioned for you since before the beginning of the world.

Please know, my lovely and perfect child, that this is only a small part of the amazing and crazy journey called life. This is just a tiny part of your journey, minuscule really. And every day may seem like it lasts a lifetime, but you will get through this. I would love to help you if you want me to help. If not, then I am right here waiting.

Dear sweet child, I wish I could show you the whole plan I have laid out before you, but I cannot. Just know that it is greater than you could ever imagine. You have to change to be prepared for the spectacular future I have created for you. Going through this change leaves you hurt and very confused. I know you are struggling with trusting me. You are wondering about your future and asking me what I am doing to you. I ache to hear you in such grief, and I know this is not what you planned. Remember my child, you have planned a course in your mind, but I am guiding your steps toward something even better (Proverbs 16:9). Remember that I am in control. Set your eyes on me and not the terrifying whirlwind of this life-changing time.

I ask you to please trust in me and to lean on me, not on your own understanding (Proverbs 3:5). I am working at this very moment in your life to make your paths straight and easy to follow (Proverbs 3:6). Please trust in me, my most beloved child. I love you more that you can imagine. NOTHING can separate you from me (Romans 8:39). Do not be afraid of failing, I will not allow this. Just trust me, be still, and know that I am God (Psalm 46:10).

Everyone tells you that college is hard, but they fail to explain why. Sure, classes are hard. Math sucks, and political science can be so boring. But that's not even what's killing me about college. What's killing me about college is my deterioating mental health.

As a college student, I feel as if people don't understand just how exhausted I, and fellow college students are. We have so many things going on, all the time, and sometimes it's hard to explain to people how we feel. Personally...I'm tired. I'm sad. And I'm struggling every single day with my emotions. But the thing is, it hasn't always been this way. I haven't always hated school, so why am I feeling like this now?
