A Letter To All The Free Spirits

Reality is demanding us to come together.

To all the free spirits out there,

We are the ones that fall in love with the people and places we have never been. We strive to make our wildest dreams a reality and we refuse to stop pushing the boundaries. It is in our nature to run wild and free. But, our greatest fear is being trapped.

We fear being trapped by reality and the people that claim our pursuits of happiness are simply unrealistic. So, how do we react? We run. We break all ties with people, even the ones that matter most in fear that we won’t be able to run free with our own thoughts and achieve our biggest adventures. We want life to be a journey and to feel and live every moment to its greatest potential.

Sadly, it is becoming harder and harder to wake up in this state of mind. I used to be a free spirit. I used to wake up feeling bright like the whole world was at my fingertips. But, many would say I was just being naïve. The world we are living in today is a hard world. A world that presents personal challenges every day, a world that forces us to grow extremely fast and society demands us to know exactly what our future will look like at a young age.

When I experienced these realizations, they trapped the free spirit deep inside me and provoked the realist to slowly emerge. As this change began to happen, my creativity, joy, energy and my optimistic mindset vanished. I began to let the world take over. I felt discouraged, alone and trapped within the mainstream. I saw myself falling into the everyday lifestyle of going through the motions. Even the things that used to make me feel alive concerts, friends, nights out and my hobbies started to feel numb.

Well, here is the reality my fellow free spirits. This world needs our help. This world demands selflessness. There are people that need our help. Our environment needs our help if we are going to preserve the nature, beauty, the life and the life that feeds our lives on this earth.

Money. I hate to say it, but it runs this world. We need money to live. Therefore, we have to get a job that will pay the bills. We may have to live the mundane day-to-day life style. That may be reality but this is what I have to say about that.

To everybody and especially my free spirit, my wild child, my hippie, my life loving person, this reality does not have to trap us. Creativity, energy, and joy are they keys to saving this world. Being optimistic is going to save people. Determination to love and feel free is going to save the place you love to run free. Do not be naïve. Instead, let the harsh reality embrace the free spirit. We are the ones that dream of change. So, act. Dream away and use your creativity to make a change. Please, I am begging you, do not let this world crush your spirit and force you to run. Realize, like me, that this world needs more of us. Bring your natural energy to your everyday life to bring happiness to the people around you. Being a wild child is not about feeling alive at the party or being wild and reckless, but instead channeling your ideals to make a difference.

We already don’t live in the same world as our parents. Not even close. I challenge you to realize that we have something special. We have the mindset and the power to make a change.

Sincerely,

A fellow wild child

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
