A Letter For My Sister
Britini D'Angelo

Dear Lovely Sister Of Mine,

You are my best friend in the entire world. You are my rock and have always supported me throughout everything I have accomplished. You are my partner in crime and have been there for my entire life. You are so incredibly special to me and I could not ask for a better sister. I could never imagine my life without your shining light present in it. This letter is dedicated to showing you how much you mean to me.

Whenever I fall, you are there to catch me. You tell me that everything is going to be OK in the end and you always encourage me to never give up. Whenever I need to talk to someone, you are always there for me. You stop whatever you are doing so that I can tell you about what happened to me throughout my day, no matter if it was good or bad. On a daily basis, you show me endless love, kindness and compassion. As Liv and Maddie say on Disney Channel, we are sisters by chance and friends by choice. You are:

Special to me, and you always will be.

Inspirational.

Smart beyond your years.

Talented in so many ways.

Energetic about life.

Reliable, I can always count on you.

Spectacular!

Even when the going has gotten tough, we always find a way to work through it together. We may fight, but that only brings us closer together in the end. We are such an amazing team and we always will be. No matter where we are in this world or how many miles we are apart, we will always be sisters. You will always be my best friend and I will always be here for you, supporting you through everything that you do. Thank you for being so amazing to me for all these years. I would not be the person I am today if it were not for you. I love you with all of my heart.

Love,

Your Sister

A Sister Just Like You

I just wanted to let you know
you mean the world to me.
Only a heart as dear as yours
would give so unselfishly.
The many things you’ve done,
all the times you were there,
help me know deep down inside
how much you really care.
Even though I might not say,
I appreciate all that you do.
Richly blessed is how I feel
and that is why I’m glad to have a sister just like you.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
