A Letter for Kevin Richardson

To my hero, The Lion Whisperer.

A Letter for Kevin Richardson

Words cannot express the admiration I have for you and your work. You're not just saving a life, you are saving a species.

Without your work, the world wouldn't comprehend the risk we have of losing all the lions in the wild or all the other creatures you take into your sanctuary. The education you provide to the public through your YouTube channel and your documentaries has opened the public's eyes to the dangers these animals are facing everyday in the wild.

If it wasn't for you, imagine how many more tourists would still be pouring their money into the cub petting industry unaware that the cubs end up in the canned hunting industry when they get too old.

You break the stereotype of having to "tame" or "break" an animal through violence and training. Instead, you give them love and respect and earn the same in return, connecting with them on a spiritual level. The beauty behind your relationship with these creatures is like no other and just warms my heart.

As a result of your relationship with these creatures, you reveal the more loving and gentle side of these carnivores. You show how lions aren't just large ferocious monsters, but that they can transform into a lazy and playful kitty in the blink of an eye. Or how hyenas aren't just blood thirsty beasts you see on TV, but are graceful and intelligent creatures. But at the same time, you warn the public that wild animals are not meant to be kept as pets, and of the constant dangers you are in when you are surrounded by them.

And not to mention, you opened your heart and saved countless animals by taking them into your sanctuary. Your selflessness is so pure in a world full of darkness and greed. You shed light on those who would normally not even get a second glance because they're an animal.

You put your life on the line to save those who can't speak for themselves. Because of people like you, animal species like lions and hyenas have a chance to survive for generations to come. So thank you, thank you and everyone at the Kevin Richardson Wildlife Sanctuary for all the work you have done for these animals and the world. You are my hero.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.
